Fawkner Memorial Park has three recently renovated, non-denominational spaces with warm timber tones, vaulted ceilings and views over leafy gardens and water features. All three suit both religious and non-religious funeral ceremonies.

Directions to the Fawkner Chapels
Fawkner Memorial Park is located at 1187 Sydney Road, Hadfield.
When you enter the cemetery through the main gate off Sydney Road, the chapels are located straight down the main drive, through a large roundabout, then straight ahead for approximately 600 metres. All three chapels sit directly alongside the crematorium at the rear.
The site is well signposted. You can simply follow the coloured lines from the entrance to the chapel your service is being held in.
Additional Time for Your Service
The chapels are usually booked for an hour service with a half an hour setup time prior to commencing the service. If you feel the booking will go for longer than an hour we can book additional time at the time the booking is placed.
Please note the chapels can book out quite quickly with most people wanting to hold their services between 10:30am and 2:30 pm on a normal weekday. If you want additional time in the chapel please let our arranger know so we can secure the chapel.
It can be a good idea to book additional time if many family and friends would like the opportunity to eulogise and honour the person’s life, or if the celebrant or clergy, monk or person leading the ceremony has indicated it may be a longer than standard service. We quite often find that a Buddhist ceremony will require additional time for extended viewing.
If you feel you would like additional time for a family viewing, we would recommend that this occurs at our lounge and chapel area a day or evening prior to the chapel service. That way you and your family won’t be under time constraints on the day.

A photo presentation can play an important role in honouring your loved one, and has become an extremely popular way for family to remember and celebrate a person’s life. We can put one together and run it for you, or some families prefer to make their own, which can be quite cathartic.
Live-Streaming / Recording
Live-streaming and recording of the funeral service can be booked at the same time your funeral is arranged — your Dubock funeral arranger will ask whether you’d like to include it. Fixed cameras are installed in all three chapels and are managed by One Room, who start the livestream precisely at the scheduled booking time. For services running longer than the allocated time, the funeral director or chapel attendant may need to ask One Room to keep the livestream active.
Wake / Refreshment Options
When we book your Fawkner Chapel, we can also book one of the venues at Fawkner Memorial Park for refreshments after the service. Below are options located within the cemetery grounds:
- Fawkner Historic Tearoom – Located at the front of the cemetery, off the Sydney Road entrance
- Commemoration Centre – in Northern Memorial Park, just across Box Forest Road
All on-site refreshment venues are a short drive from the chapels, and our funeral staff will walk you across to the tearoom and settle you in.
There are also a number of venues available if you’d prefer to move away from the cemetery grounds. Below are some options we recommend:
