Funeral Act (2006) – Parliament of Victoria
The Funerals Act (2006) was enacted in Parliament to regulate the funeral industry in Victoria, establishing requirements for funeral providers.
Key inclusions in the 2006 Act (incorporating amendments in 2016) include the following requirements:
- Registration as a funeral provider
- Registration of Prepaid Funeral Contracts
- Offer a basic funeral service
- Produce a funeral goods and services price list & coffin price list
- Provide a statement of itemised funeral costs before providing a funeral service
- Provide information about investment of money paid for pre-paid funerals
- Pre-paid funerals:
– provide a pre-paid contract and receipt
– invest monies into a funeral benefit fund within a certain timeframe
– provide information about the investment of money
– maintain a register of prepaid funerals - Maintain a complaints handling procedure

Funeral Regulations (2025) – Victoria
The Funeral Regulations (2025) was introduced to improve clarity for consumers. These regulations require the display of price lists for all funeral goods and services and transparency regarding their business location, transport and mortuary facilities.

Basic Funeral – no service cremation – $3995
Our Basic Funeral service includes:
- Our basic service fee
- Standard transfer fee
- Choice of low-cost MDF coffin or Cardboard Daisy Box Casket for cremation
- Cremation fee at a local Melbourne or Geelong Crematorium
- Doctor’s fee associated with cremation
- Fun Death Certificate from Births, Deaths and Marriages Victoria

Our modern mortuary facilities include customised climate-controlled storage facilities. The deceased person will be kept in one of our mortuary facilities and will only be transported for the purposes of the funeral service in accordance with the final funeral agreement.
Transportation to our mortuary facilities is carried out using fully purpose-built funeral vehicles owned and operated by Dubock Funerals Pty Ltd. On occasion when our transport service is unavailable, transfers may be conducted by Professional Transfer Services, a specialist mortuary transfer provider.
All care provided to those entrusted to us is overseen by our highly experienced and qualified mortician & embalmer.
